About Us

Get What You Set arms job seekers and career changers with the tools to make them irresistible candidates and gain deep market access to hiring decision makers. How? We have a powerful formula for facilitating personal and professional achievement. Our mission: To help launch and actualize realistic career goals with immediate market entry strategies.

Get What You Set delivers the insider secrets of a Fortune 100 recruiter that have been employed on thousands of successful candidates. We are an antidote to all the books, web sites, career coaches, resume writers and networking events that fail to inspire change and results. We're no fluff, no nonsense and no excuses. Our fresh, practical, and transformative tools are just what one needs to get ahead.

Get What You Set grew out of the convergence of two significant occasions. First, our co-founder's college-age children began to ask for assistance with their resumes and job searches. When they were successful, their friends came begging for help. Second, the Harvard Business School Alumni Association heard of Ira's work and invited him to deliver a seminar for job seekers and career changers. The response was overwhelming: "Refreshing!", "How can I get more of this?", "Can the tools apply to my kids in college and grad school?" And voila! Get What You Set was born.

Ira Ziff Headshot

As the creative force behind Get What You Set, Ira Ziff has transformed the process of self promotion into a revolutionary and no-nonsense system for career development, professional achievement and profitable business generation. Get What You Set evolved within Precision Research Group, a boutique executive search and outplacement firm that Ira launched a dozen years ago with zero contacts. Deploying his ingenuity and tenacity, Ira grew PRG into a leading retained search provider in the debt finance sector, serving finance companies such as GE, Citi, CIT, Wells Fargo and Key Bank. Many of these companies turned to Ira after various failed searches conducted by national, brand name firms.

While serving as a "go-to" recruiter for his clients, Ira re-invented an outdated and dysfunctional model of traditional job search and career transition. Scores of candidates and professional service providers recognize Ira for unlocking their subconscious to discover their professional value, conquer their fears and increase their marketability.

Previously, Ira was ranked as a top performing sales executive for one of the most profitable and innovative privately held medical supply firms in the U.S. He was credited with rapidly transforming a dead territory and converting large institutional prospects into coveted clients in one of the industry's most competitive markets. A graduate of The George Washington University, Ira lives in New York with his family.
